Last month I test drove the Mitsubishi Lancer for a full week. Now, I have to say that this car may have been at a disadvantage since the week prior I had the Kia Forte. I tried not to compare the two, but it was very hard not to.
Some things I loved about the Lancer:
Safety – again airbags are a must for my family and I. HUGE bonus on every car that has multiple bags.
Keyless entry – I’m not sure why I like this feature so much. It’s either because I hate digging in my purse/bag/pockets when I have my hands full of groceries, or because I loved watching my kiddos face when the doors would unlock on their own. (yes, our current vehicles are old school and don’t have these luxuries)
The look of the car was sporty, but not over the top. This is definitely the type of car I could drive and would not mind being seen in. No sporty tires, or flashy colors & spoilers. If this is a must have for you – you may not like this car. But for me, it’s great!
Comfort – for a small family. Back when I had 2 babies, a family of 4, this car would have been great. Two kids in the back space with a nice “invisible line” in the middle. ha! There is space for children to relax and stretch their legs.
Some things I didn’t care for:
Leg Room – While this would be comfortable for a family of 4, I think as the kids got older, it would not be. Kids have room in the back, older teens, not so much. More leg room could be added in my opinion.
Trunk size – Again, a small young family would do well in this car, but the trunk would not hold all the teen “stuff” – especially if your kids are in sports. Ask me how I know? 🙂
Bells & Whistles – This is actually NOT a bad thing in my book, but I put it under this section because my husband, kids, and most people I know want all the extra accessories that come along with new cars. Me, not so much. If you’re like me, you will love this car. I’m a plain jane 😉 Now, you can opt for the bells & whistles and pay a little more.
